Brothers

Garrett came in for his two year session and brought his big brother Edison along with him. We made sure to capture many of the two year milestones images for Garrett, but it wouldn't be complete without a few with his brother. The bond between siblings is always uniquely special, but it is so fun to see those individual personalities come out too!! There was a little bit of wrangling involved, they are boys! And, after the winter we have had, I'm even tempted to run around the studio when I come in. But, looking at these images one would never guess that Garrett and Edison were anything but the sweetest of angels. That is exactly how a session should go. I want the kids to have fun, relax and we will get those great moments in-between it all.

Little Lucille

Lucille surprised everyone by coming three weeks early.  She was adored immediately by her Mom, Dad, big Sister and big Brother. Making her a true little princess to all that love her.

Hockey Mom

For the past 18 weeks or so, bundling up inside a hockey rink has been a part of my life. This year both boys are now playing hockey, but Nolan has been playing more tournaments on Saturdays. This past Saturday we headed out to Muskegon for a Hockey Jamboree. It was the first time I saw the confident leader my son may grow to be. It was a little bittersweet seeing my little boy out there with such poise and confidence. But, my heart swelled a lot knowing that he is growing into his own.

Mommy to be

Pattie came into the studio for her Maternity session. It was just her and I, and I so enjoy these one on one sessions. I am able to chat with the person on the other side of my camera and it hardly feels like work. With Pattie it felt like meeting a friend for coffee. I got to know her just a little bit more and I feel those connections show in the images. Since Pattie and Ben's little girl came a few weeks early, little Lucille will be debuting on the blog in a few days!

Jeremy and Sarah

I needed to find a couple to photograph for a training course assignment, so I was ecstatic when Sarah contacted me. Jeremy and Sarah had just celebrated their 5 year wedding anniversary, so the timing could not have been more perfect.

They braved the first blizzard of 2014 to meet me at my studio. We started inside were it was warm and toasty. After warming up with all of the love they were showing each other, we headed outside into the snow!  They had each written letters to each other, that they shared outside amongst the falling snow.

The love, compassion, laughter, joy and support they showed each other warmed my heart. When I started photography, this is what I was seeking to photograph. Real emotion and treasured moments.

Happy 5th Anniversary Jeremy and Sarah! I hope you are blessed with many more. Thank you for helping me finish this assignment and to helping me start this new journey into the Beloved style of photography.

Stay Warm!
